ST. GEORGE – Habitat for Humanity, an ecumenical Christian housing ministry, surpassed its 400,000 house milestone during its most recent fiscal year. Since its founding in 1976, Habitat has built, rehabilitated, repaired or improved 400,000 houses worldwide, providing simple, decent and affordable shelter for more than 2 million people.
“We are happy to have participated in this important milestone by improving the lives of families in our community,” said Executive Director Michelle Hill. “With continued support from our sponsors and volunteers, we’ll address affordable housing needs locally.”
Habitat for Humanity of Southwest Utah is preparing for the dedication of their 16th home in Washington County for a deserving, hard-working family of four. This “Home for the Holidays” will be dedicated in La Verkin on Tuesday, December 21, at 3:30 p.m. The community is invited to join in the celebration of the newest Habitat home by contacting Habitat for Humanity of Southwest Utah at 435-674-7669 for details.
