Hatch, Zuckerberg Prepare for BYU Technology Forum

PROVO – In a one-on-one with Sen. Orrin Hatch before the BYU Technology Forum, Hatch described Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg as a good friend who is shy and humble.

In the first of it’s kind, Zuckerberg and Hatch, Chair of the Senatorial High Tech Task Force, joined together to hold a technology forum at Brigham Young University. The forum is scheduled to start at 11 a.m. today.

Hatch said he met Zuckerberg at a Task Force meeting, and they quickly became good friends. Hatch then asked Zuckerberg to come to Utah for the forum. He said Zuckerberg is bringing 10 staff members with him, three of which are graduates of BYU.

“He’s very well aware of where to get top-notched people,” Hatch said of Zuckerberg.

When asked if Provo could become a hub for Facebook, Hatch said he is always asking Zuckerberg for that. When asked if Zuckerberg was a Republican, Hatch said, “Probably not.”
