ST. GEORGE – Brady Heber Aiken was sentenced for the aggravated sexual abuse of a child on Nov. 8.
Washington County Prosecuting Attorney Ryan Shaum confirmed Aiken was sentenced to six years to life for the crime.
Shaum said Aiken gave an emotional statement at the sentencing.
“He apologized to his victims, his family and his friends,” Shaum said.
Aiken said he had a problem that needed to be treated and he deserved to be incarcerated.
“He was pretty forthright about taking responsibility,” Shaum said.
Aiken was arrested for in April, 2010, after telling the Hurricane City Police Department that he had sexually abused two children under the age of 5. One child lived in Washington County, while the other lived in Kane County. (See previous story here.)
Aiken pled guilty to charges filed in Washington County in May 2011.
Sentencing had been scheduled for the following month, but was delayed due to divorce and custody hearings involving Aiken’s wife and children. The sentencing took place once these issues were resolved.
The Kane County-based case against Aiken was pushed back due to delays in the Washington County case. Now that the Washington County case has concluded, Shaum said he didn’t know what was in store for Aiken as far as Kane County was concerned.

@Firefly I don’t think justice has been served when he could get out after only 6 years! Two children scarred for life, sentence should have been at least 15 years to life.
As a former Correctional Officer from California, believe me, justice will have been served once he arrives at the state correctional facility and the rest of the inmates eventually become aware of his offenses. Trust me when I tell you that being segregated from the general population will not keep him safe enough. He will have wished he got the death sentence when they are through with him and he becomes some ones “wife”.
