CEDAR – The Dixie Flyers (5-1, 9-6) used a big second quarter to beat the Canyon View Falcons (0-4, 6-7) 54-41 on Wednesday night. With the win the Flyers extend their winning streak to five games and jump into first place in Region 9.
The No. 2 ranked Flyers were led by Deshon Brown’s 13 points. Walker Swenson added 12 points and junior Kyler Smith chipped in with 10 points. The Flyers have Friday and finished up the first half of Region play 5-1.
The Falcons were held to only four points in the third quarter and are yet to find a third scorer to help out Chad Correy and Kameron King. Correy had a game high 16 points and King added 15 points.
The Falcons finish up the first half of Region play on Friday at 7 p.m. against Hurricane.
