ST. GEORGE – The Mayor and the Citywide Community Action Team, together with their host, LifeLock, are presenting a community meeting tonight at the Dixie Convention Center on the subject of identity theft.  The presentation begins at 6 p.m. and is open to the public free of charge.

Topics to be discussed include:

•  Different trends and examples of actual identity thieves caught in the act;

•  Statistics, local and national, on identity theft;

•  Methods of identity theft;

•  Different generations of identity theft practices, from dumpster diving to current high tech maneuvers; and

•  Consumer protection.

Free resources and guides will be provided to assist people in protecting their own information on a daily basis.
