ST. GEORGE – The Cedar Redmen used a 21-7 fourth quarter run to beat Payson 54-38 this afternoon at the Burns Arena on the Campus of Dixie State College of Utah.
The Redmen are the third Region 9 team to advance to the semifinals along with Desert Hills and Dixie. Hurricane has a chance to make it an all-Region 9 final; they have to beat Morgan to advance.
The Redmen used a balance attack with four players in double figures led by Breylin Blackner and Trent Snow, each of who scored 12 points. John Urusa chipped in 10 points while Kyler Nielson added 11 points.
The Redmen will play the winner of Hurricane vs. Morgan tomorrow at 9 p.m. in the Burns Arena at DSC.

Patrick Blake is the host of Blake's Take On Local Sports on Fox News Radio 96.7 fm 1450 am. Patrick was born in Las Vegas, and spent the majority of his life traveling between Las Vegas and St. George. His first word ever said was “touchdown” and he has been a sports fanatic ever since. Patrick’s life revolves heavily around sports and his family. After high school, Patrick went on to play college basketball in California where he later was offered an assistant coaching position. In his free time, Patrick enjoys spending time with his wife and son, coaching high school summer basketball, and playing golf.
