You won’t have to juggle a printed guidebook and a website when you apply for a cow elk, doe deer or doe pronghorn hunting permit for this fall’s hunts.

Instead, everything you need to apply will be available in one spot online.

Detailed maps, boundary descriptions, a list of available hunts, all of the information you need to apply, and a link to the application itself, are among the items you’ll find atwildlife.utah.gov/guidebooks.

Applications for permits will be accepted through wildlife.utah.gov starting June 1. Your application must be received through the website no later than 11 p.m. on June 21, to be included in the draw for permits.

“Once you get used to not having a printed guidebook,” says Staci Coons, “we think you’ll like it. When you go to our website, you’ll find lots of good information. And all of it will be available in one spot.”

Coons leads the Division of Wildlife Resources team that writes and produces Utah’s hunting, fishing and trapping guidebooks.

For more information, call the nearest Division of Wildlife Resources office or the DWR’s Salt Lake City office at 801-538-4700.
