ST. GEORGE – The Southwest Utah Public Health Department now has flu vaccine available to protect against the 2012-2013 flu season.
It is currently recommended that everyone over six months of age get immunized although young children, people over 65 years of age, and anyone with chronic health problems are especially encouraged to do so.
The SWUPHD is offering flu vaccine in several forms including a shot for all ages, a High-Dose shot for seniors over age 65, and nasal spray for healthy individuals ages 2 to 49. All vaccines are $18 or no charge with some insurances.
Call the St. George SWUPHD office at 435-986-2540 to make an appointment or attend the “Flu Shoot-Out,” which is a convenient way to get your shot and help emergency responders practice mass-vaccination exercises.

- 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.: Drive-Thru for seniors (enter from Mall Drive)
- 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.: Walk-In for all ages
Save time by printing the consent form under “Flu Vaccinations” at the SWUPHD website. Fill out and bring to your clinic appointment or the Shoot-Out.
The following insurance cards are accepted: Medicare, Medicaid, CHIP, PEHP, SelectHealth, Altius, United Health, and Tall Tree.
I am fortunate to have undergone treatments that render me immune to just about anything nature could possibly throw at me thanks to some breakthrough developments in genetic algorithms and immunology. I am somewhat sorry to say that these treatments are not available to the peasants, who, if they wish to receive the dubious flu vaccination shots, must visit their local supermarket or health clinic.

Murat, you are one amazing, egocentric, super bug but I doubt that your “genetic algorithms and immunology” unavailable to the rest of us can keep pace with the mutation rates of most viruses….mathematically speaking. That includes the many endogenous retroviruses that you currently have residing in each of your cells. Might need to spend some more money on the snake oil that is unavailable to the rest of us peasants.
