Single vehicle accident causes minor power outage in Hurricane

HURRICANE – A single vehicle accident left some Hurricane residents without power for a few hours on Saturday morning.

Nancy Perkins, Public Information Officer for the Hurricane Police Department, said that the car drifted across the center lane and over the left shoulder of the roadway, striking a telephone box and power pole in the vicinity of 1100 West and 2300 South. The driver, a 43-year-old male, told responders from the Hurricane Police Department that he probably fell asleep while driving. No injuries were reported to him or his female passenger.

Power outages were reported in the surrounding area. City of Hurricane power crews responded and repaired the damage. Power was fully restored in the late morning/early afternoon on Saturday.
