Videocast: Thunder come out of Rumble with optimism

ST. GEORGE – Four full-length basketball games in four days can wear anyone out.

Desert Hills emerged from the four-day gauntlet with three wins and a positive attitude toward the rest of the season.

The Thunder easily won Saturday in a 50-35 romp over Payson. Jordan Hokanson had 13 points and Josh Anderson had 10 points, eight rebounds and four assists.

Payson was down double-digits most of the game, but an 8-0 run brought them to within 28-24 with seven minutes to play.

After a time out, Anderson and company took over the game, going on a 14-1 run. Hokanson and Jackson Card both hit 3-pointers in the run and Anderson had a steal and breakaway layup and a couple of more inside scores to key Desert Hills to the win.

The Thunder, 8-3, will take a break from hoops before resuming Region 9 play Jan. 4 at Hurricane.
