ST. GEORGE — Welcome to our Region 9 basketball new year video previews. In this seven-part series, STGnews sports editor Andy Griffin and assistant Keric Seegmiller take a look at each Region 9 team as we head into the 2013 region season.
Today we look at Pine View, which has started quickly and (despite its youth) looks as if it could contend for a region title:

STGNews Sports has potential, but I have some tips for improvement. First, the commentators need to introduce themselves. Second, they need to be placed in more comfortable positions, and given a desk so they have a place to shuffle papers and pound on. Because they don’t have this, the interactions and body language are awkward. Third, I want to see the big bear guy (Griffin) wearing some bling and some better shirts, like basketball jerseys or something. Fourth, I want some banter. They don’t have to Tweet swear words, but some trash talking is acceptable and even preferred. Fifth, sign off with “the STG/435, SPORTS NEWS!” And then Bear body slams the kid. Something dramatic. Thanks.
