WASHINGTON, D.C. – Sen. Mike Lee has joined 14 of his Senate colleagues in calling on President Obama to withdraw Chuck Hagel’s nomination as Secretary of Defense.
“Hagel’s performance at his confirmation hearing was deeply concerning, leading to serious doubts about his basic competence to meet the substantial demands of the office,” Lee said in a statement Thursday. “While Hagel’s erratic record and myriad conversions on key national security issues are troubling enough, his statements regarding Iran were disconcerting.”
The other senators calling for President Obama to withdraw the nomination are Sens. Cornyn, R-Texas, Inhofe, R-Okla., Graham, R-S.C., Wicker, R-Miss., Vitter, R-La., Cruz, R-Texas, Toomey, R-Pa., Rubio, R-Fla., Coats, R-Ind., Johnson, R-Wis., Risch, R-Idaho, Barrasso, R-Wyo., Coburn, R-Okla. and Scott, R-S.C.
“Over the last half-century, no Secretary of Defense has been confirmed and taken office with more than three senators voting against him,” Lee said. “Furthermore, in the history of this position, none has ever been confirmed with more than 11 opposing votes. The occupant of this critical office should be someone whose candidacy is neither controversial nor divisive.”

Translation: Any Secretary of Defense nominee unwilling to continue deficit-spending to further enrich the socialist military-industrial complex will not receive the support of Republican senators.
No wonder Rush Limbaugh is ashamed of America.
I wish, Lee, and Hatch were on the list., I understands yellow belly, spineless jelly fish Hatch not being on there but, Lee?
