ST. GEORGE – A car dealership in St. George was shut down by the Utah State Tax Commission Thursday.
Sgt. Eric McPherson, of the USTC’s Motor Vehicle Enforcement Division, said agents of the Division executed a warrant at Executive Auto Group on Bluff Street Thursday. He said the Division began investigating the auto dealer six months ago after receiving complaints about particular business practices. He said agents were going through the dealership and gathering documents.
Officers of the the St. George Police Department were also on hand to assist state agents as the warrant was served.
McPherson said the Division has been working closely with the Washington County Attorney’s Office during the investigation thus far.
As of Thursday afternoon, McPherson said, Executive Auto Group’s business license has been invalidated by the state, effectively shutting the business down until further notice.
The management of Executive Auto Group, Inc. said they could not comment on the matter, and a call to the Washington County Attorney’s Office was not immediately returned.
The investigation is ongoing.

The negativity is for poor reporting. There was a story here, but tell it when you know something which is what was done today by Mr. Kessler. Don’t waste time filling up space when nothing can be reported. Thank you!
When is it enough? Another st george business / car dealership trying to cheat the system. You will get caught. Why risk it? How hard is it to conduct business in an honest manner st george?
