ST. GEORGE – On Feb. 20, a landslide in northern Arizona caused significant damage to U.S. Route 89 about 25 miles south of Page, Ariz., forcing the Arizona Department of Transportation to close the highway between the U.S. Route 89A junction near Bitter Springs and the state Route 98 junction near Page between mileposts 523 and 546.
There is no estimate for when the travel route will reopen, but ADOT has a series of communication tools available to keep you informed about the project.
Visit the ADOT Blog for the latest updates and information.
Please note that the closure does not affect Route 89A, which is open and operating under normal conditions.
Route 89A, Route 160 and state Route 98 are open for alternative travel routes.
