Civil War tribute by American Heritage Lyceum Philharmonic; Tuacahn Amphitheatre

IVINS – The American Heritage Lyceum Philharmonic will present the “One Nation: A Civil War Tribute” concert this Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the Tuacahn Amphitheatre.

Created as a musical tribute to the sacrifices made by the country’s veterans, the program was written specifically for the American Heritage Lyceum Philharmonic by composer Rob Moffat and orchestrated by award-winning filmmaker and composer Rob Gardner.

The American Heritage Lyceum Philharmonic has been named “Best Youth Performing Ensemble” by Best of State Utah for four consecutive   years. Their 2012 joint release with The Piano Guys, “Beethoven’s 5 Secrets,” spent 48 days as the No. 1 download on the iTunes classical chart. This professional-level student ensemble has performed with David  Archuleta, The 5 Browns, Alex  Boyé, Peter Breinholt, Jenny Oaks Baker, Paul Cardall, Michael Ballam, Dallyn Vail Bayles, George Dyer, Jordan Bluth and Cactus Jack La MARR.

The Lyceum Philharmonic recently released their first commercial album, “Hearts and Minds,” which features sacred religious music alongside classical works by Mahler, Bernstein and others. These accomplished young musicians are all high school-aged and come from schools  across the state of Utah to participate in the program.

“Tuacahn is excited about bringing this extremely talented group of young people to Southern Utah,”  Tuacahn Artistic Director Scott S. Anderson said. “This is a special and unique opportunity for area residents to enjoy this patriotic performance.”

As a gesture of appreciation to local veterans, Tuacahn is offering a special reduced price for veterans and their families of just $5 per ticket.  Guests should use promo code AL5 when purchasing tickets from the Tuacahn box office. In addition, school, youth and veterans groups can purchase 10 or more tickets for just $2 each by using promo code AL2.

This performance is a part of Tuacahn’s spring concert series. For tickets and additional information, please call the Tuacahn box office at 435-652-3300 or visit their website.
