Veterans Honor Ride for Ivins veterans’ home

ST. GEORGE – The Patriot Guard Riders of Southern Utah invite all motorcycle and classic car enthusiasts to participate in a fun ride and raise money for the Ivins veterans’ home.

The ride will begin at 10 a.m. sharp at Vernon Worthen Park in St. George and travel along Interstate 15 and Highways 14, 89 and 12 before ending at Ruby’s Inn in Bryce Canyon City. It is approximately a 2.5 hour trip.

The ride is open to all motorcyclists and classic car drivers. Tickets cost $25 per rider or driver and $15 per passenger. The cost includes a full buffet lunch with salad bar, beverages and dessert. All proceeds will be donated to the new veterans’ home currently under construction in Ivins.

Participants can register at the start of the ride or preregister in person at three St. George locations: The Polaris/Victory Dealership at 1275 East Red Hills Parkway, Desert Thunder Cycle Works at 955 North 1300 West or O.C.D. at 1370 West Sunset Boulevard. Preregistration is recommended as long lines are expected at the registration booth on the day of the ride.

The public is invited to attend pre-ride festivities, held from 8:30 to 10 a.m. in Vernon Worthen Park. Attendees can check out the impressive motorcycles and classic cars, chat with St. George Mayor Dan McArthur, veterans and military personnel and enjoy a performance of the national anthem from Mikalene Ipson. Irmita’s Restaurant, one of the event sponsors, will be on hand to serve breakfast.

The ride is sponsored by numerous local businesses and organized by the Patriot Guard Riders of Southern Utah and other patriotic groups. It is a chance for the public to become acquainted with and support veteran-oriented efforts in the community.
