ST. GEORGE – Traffic was slowed on Brigham Road Friday afternoon after a St. George city truck leaving the city’s reuse center spilled a full trailer full of mulch onto the roadway.
The truck was turning right onto Brigham Road from the reuse center, St. George Police Officer Tyrell Bangerter said, when the trailer it was hauling tilted over and crashed on to the roadway. Mulch spilled into both the eastbound and westbound lanes.
The westbound segment of Brigham Road where the accident occurred was block off by police, and traffic was diverted into the eastbound lanes while city workers and others worked to clear the roadway.
A tire on the truck’s left side is suspected to have blown out, triggering the incident, Bangerter said, but no official cause has been released as the investigation is active at this time.
Nobody was injured in connection with the accident.

Sadly this is the same truck that I drive for the city. I know the guy who was driving and can just about guarantee he didn’t do his pre-inspections like he never does. On top of that they say it was a blown tire that may have led to this accident. Sadly I’ve been trying to say something about the tires for some time now and it was always budget restraints as to the reason the tires could not be replaced despite the tires being nearly bald and illegal according to DOT regulations.
