Yukon spins out on Old Highway 18 near Veyo ravine

VEYO – Just before 3 p.m. yesterday, a GMC Yukon spun out at mile post 20 on state Route 18, also known as Old Highway 18, 100 feet north of the Veyo ravine

A 17-year-old male from Dammeron Valley was driving the Yukon southbound on Highway 18, Utah Highway Patrol Cpl. Todd Johnson said. He crossed over the northbound lane of travel and went off the roadway, hitting the embankment and spinning clockwise until the vehicle came to rest blocking the northbound lane of travel.

The driver suffered non-incapacitating injuries, Johnson said, and was transported to Dixie Regional Medical Center. There were no passengers.

No other vehicles were involved.

The posted speed limit on the highway is 65 mph and the driver’s speed of travel was estimated at 40 mph.

Local emergency responders and Washington County Sheriff gave assistance at the scene. UHP handled the investigation.

The driver was cited for failure to maintain his lane.

Sorry to burst your bubble “Annoyed” but there won’t be any assuming or insults. Everyone in the local area knows this young man and why the accident occured. He fell asleep on his way home. Thank goodness his parents raised him right and he was wearing his seat belt. No other circumstances involved.

Really? They poor kid probably had to change his drawers and the cop still cited him. I get it it, he did fail to maintain his lane, but holy crap! 🙂
