WASHINGTON D.C. – Sen. Orrin Hatch, a current member and former chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, released the following statement Tuesday, on the 226th anniversary of the signing of the U.S. Constitution:
“226 years ago today, 39 brave men signed the United States Constitution and said that America is a land founded on freedom, liberty and the rule of law. This document has time and again offered guiding principles for the rights of Americans against an overzealous government, and perhaps no time in our nation’s history do we need to look to the Constitution for this protection more than under the current presidential administration. Unfortunately, the Obama White House has repeatedly cast our Constitutional principles aside in favor of political expediency. From requiring Americans to purchase health insurance against their will to bypassing the Senate to appoint nominees, the Obama Administration has unfortunately been a habitual violator of our founding document. Now more than ever, we must look to the Constitution and recommit ourselves to uphold its ideals and principles that have guided our country over the last 226 years.”
Orrin was around when they signed the Constitution and still thinks it was written just for the Republican Party to interpret. You have been around much too long Orrin. Go home!
Yes, go home. Your ideas have failed, you act only for political gain or cash in your pocket, and you smell of horse doots.
The headline should read “Hatch brays on 226th anniversary of Constitution signing”
But, let us give thanks that he isn’t singing one of his sappy songs.
