ST. GEORGE — Both vehicles were towed from the scene of a two-car accident Friday morning near Desert Hills High School at the intersection of Brigham Road and Desert Hills Drive in St. George. The airbags, deployed during the collision, left one driver with minor injuries.

While attempting to make a left turn off westbound Brigham Road, a Ford Crown Victoria crashed into an oncoming Chevrolet Silverado, St. George Police Department Sgt. Sam Despain said. The driver of the Ford thought that the eastbound driver of the Chevy was going to stop when the light turned yellow, Despain said. The truck didn’t stop and the Ford crashed into the side of the it.

The Ford’s airbags deployed during the collision, leaving the driver with minor injuries, Despain said. An ambulance was called to the scene, but no one was transported to the hospital.

The driver of the Ford was given a citation for failing to yield.

This report is based on preliminary information provided by the authorities and may not contain the full scope of findings.
