WASHINGTON CITY — A crash at the intersection of 300 East and Telegraph Street in Washington City at about 6:30 p.m. on Thursday damaged two vehicles but resulted in no reported injuries to those involved.

A northbound Toyota Camry on 300 East Street entered the intersection on a flashing yellow arrow to make a left turn onto Telegraph going westbound, failing to yield to a southbound Toyota Camry on 300 East, Washington City Police Department spokesman Ed Kantor said.

The drivers of both Camrys were women and neither of them had any passengers with them, Kantor said, no one was injured.

Washington City Fire Department and Gold Cross Ambulance responded to the scene, however no one was transported.

The driver of the Camry making the left turn at the intersection was cited for failure to yield.

St. George News Reporters Natalie Barrett and Kimberly Scott contributed to this report.

This report is based in part on preliminary information provided by law enforcement and may not contain the full scope of findings.

Note: The direction of travel was corrected. One Camry was traveling northbound on 300 East and the other Camry was traveling southbound on 300 East. The northbound Camry made a left turn to go westbound on Telegraph street.

directional challenges? You can’t go north on Telegraph and you can’t go west on 300 East

Ok, first and foremost, ALL FOUR DIRECTIONS CANNOT HAVE A FLASHING YELLOW TURN SIGNAL AT THE SAME TIME! Second, and just as goofy, how can one car be going north on telegraph, which is possible, and the other be going SOUTH on 300 east??? Really??? Doesn’t anyone there at St. George News even read this crap before you all just send it out?

Also, just FYI, there are a bunch of tow companies here in St. George, not just the TWO that all your photographers seem to catch full door advertising shots of! Either show all of us, or NONE!!

If a car is northbound on Telegraph it isn’t going to be able to travel far.:)

Traffic on 300 E goes north and south. Traffic on Telegraph goes east and west.

Maybe its time to run a story or an advertorial on the proper way to navigate a flashing yellow light (arrow). I bet you could sell it as an advertorial to one of the driving schools!
