Amber Alert for Pablo Rivera canceled

UTAH – An Amber Alert issued for 13-year-old Pablo Rivera, has been canceled by the Provo Police Department.

Pablo Rivera was reported as being abducted from his home in Provo, Friday night, by his noncustodial father, Juan Rivera Casillas, 42, and was believed to be traveling with his father and grandfather toward the San Ysidro, Mexico, border sometime Saturday.

The Police Department posted a notice on its Facebook in connection with the alert Saturday afternoon canceling the alert. The post stated:

The Provo Police Department is discontinuing the Amber Alert for Pablo Rivera. We believe he is in Mexico and is not in imminent danger which is one of the requirements for the Amber Alert standards. We would like to thank everyone who helped in anyway.

The alert has also been removed from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children website.

Request for further comment from the Department is pending response as this report is published.
