ST. GEORGE — Three vehicles were towed after a four-way collision occurred at the intersection of Bluff Street and 300 North, slowing traffic, around 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
A midnight-blue, two-door Pontiac was traveling south on Bluff Street when the driver, a man, traveled through a red light and crashed into a dark-gray Nissan Altima that was headed eastbound out of the parking lot in front of Jazzy’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Grill. The momentum of the crash caused the Pontiac to spin off into the northbound lane, where it collided with a white Honda Civic that was stopped at the light, St. George Police Officer Trevor Woolstenhulme said. A white Toyota Tacoma was also hit during the incident but it is still unclear which vehicle hit the truck.
St. George police and fire departments arrived on scene around 4:40 p.m. to direct traffic and investigate the incident. The northbound lanes between 200 North and 300 North on Bluff Street were shut down, and southbound travel at 300 North was redirected through the parking lot of Jazzy’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Grill.
“No one was transported by ambulance to the hospital,” Woolstenhulme said. “There were a few people that were going to self-transport to get themselves checked out.”
Traffic was moving freely again at approximately 5:07 p.m. The driver of the Pontiac was cited for running a red light. No other citations were given. All three cars had to be towed. The truck sustained minor damage and did not have to be towed but was released with the owner.
