Precautionary, preparedness actions

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.

Fire restrictions
The Williams and Tusayan ranger districts of the Kaibab National Forest are under Stage II fire restrictions, which prohibit campfires everywhere.  However, the North Kaibab Ranger District has not yet implemented any fire restrictions due to different weather and fuels conditions.
For the duration of the Red Flag Warning, visitors to the North Kaibab Ranger District are advised to refrain from having a campfire.  This advisory covers all campfires across the district, including in developed campgrounds.
