ST. GEORGE —Many scams are in play and Mohave County Sheriff’s Office is warning the public how to avoid becoming a victim of them. Whether you live within the scope of Mohave County or not, the warnings apply to variations of scam attempts that are promulgated under a variety of disguises. Wherever you are located, if you suspect fraud, call your local law enforcement.
Jury Duty
Several residents of Kingman, Arizona, have reported receiving a telephone call from a Sgt. Nathan Flowers from the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office. Sgt. Flowers informs them that they have an arrest warrant for failure to show up for jury duty service.
The Sheriff’s Office does not conduct business by calling people with outstanding warrants and would like to remind people not to share personal information over the phone or the internet. Often scammers are fishing for personal information to gain access into your financial accounts.
If you suspect fraud, in Mohave County, call the Sheriff’s Office at 928-753-0753.
