ST. GEORGE — The Commission on Dental Accreditation, or CODA, is asking the public for third-party comments to prepare to evaluate Dixie State University’s Dental Hygiene Program qualifications for accreditation. CODA will host an evaluation team from Nov. 4-5.
“Our clinic is open to the public,” assistant professor Patricia Wintch said. “We offer preventive dental services and treatment for periodontal disease at greatly reduced fees. (The public) can access patient information on the dental hygiene website under DSU academic programs for services and fees. Current DSU student and faculty receive additional discounts.”
As the site visit draws nearer, DSU and CODA invite comments from patients, faculty, students, administrators and other communities of interest concerning the program. All comments must be in writing and signed, however the signatures will be removed before being reported to Dixie State. Anonymous or unsigned comments will not be accepted. All comments should be mailed directly to:
Commission on Dental Accreditation
211 E. Chicago Avenue
Chicago, IL 60611
All written comments should arrive at CODA no later than Sept. 4. To learn more about CODA policies and procedures, the public may contact CODA at telephone 800-621-8099 ex. 4653, or view them online.
The last review of the dental hygiene program was in Nov. 2007 where DSU was fully accredited by CODA.
To contact the DSU clinic, telephone 879-4900. It is located on the first floor of the Taylor Health Sciences Building at 1526 Medical Center Drive in St. George.
