Terri Suzanne Lusk

Lusk, Terri

Terri Suzanne Lusk, 48, of Washington, Utah, beloved wife, mother, and friend, passed away Friday, July 25, 2014, in Saint George, Utah.

She had six children and two grandchildren, whom she taught to work hard, to never give up, and to serve others. She was the oldest of seven children, and her siblings remember her as a best friend, confidante, and moral compass.

Terri influenced thousands more children as she taught science to generations of students at Dixie Middle School throughout more than a quarter of a century. “Lusk,” as she was affectionately known, planted and cared for the school’s arboretum, coached basketball, and assigned and judged hundreds of science fair projects.

She graduated in May from Southern Utah University with a Master’s degree in education. She had degrees in both elementary and secondary education. She championed the rights of all of Utah’s students by working with the Utah State Office of Education for more than ten years.

Terri was an avid runner, finishing nearly 50 marathons, ten of which were the Saint George Marathon. She loved the outdoors and spent as much time as possible in southern Utah’s beautiful places including Zion National Park and the Virgin River.

She is survived by her husband Kenneth C. Lusk and her children: Brittani Suzanne Lusk Harris (Alex Harris); Amanda Christine Lusk Harward (Kelton Harward); Kenneth Robert Lusk, Zachary Hunter Lusk, Rachel Elizabeth Lusk, and Sarah Cynthia Lusk. Her parents are Robert and Sue Marsh of Germantown, Tennessee. Her siblings include Tami Marsh Mahoney, of Germantown, Tennessee; Timothy Scott Marsh, of Slidell, La.; Tricia Marsh Green, of Alexandria, La.; Tiffany Marsh Lee, of Collierville, Tenn.; Tasha Marsh, of Austin, Texas; and Todd Marsh, of Arlington, Tenn. She is also survived by her pet snake, pet tarantula, pet gecko and her beloved bearded dragon.

Terri served on the Utah Science Association board for many years. A commitment to her students and Utah science teachers was in Terri’s moral fiber. We will deeply miss her enthusiasm, smile and commitment.

    Our deepest regards and sympathies,
USTA exec, and friend, Duane Merrell
