ST. GEORGE — Gold Cross Ambulance service transported a mother and her child to Dixie Regional Medical Center following a car accident on Main Street in St. George Thursday morning.

Just before 8 a.m. a woman and her child were traveling in a Nissan Altima southbound on Main Street. At the intersection of Main Street and 600 South, the woman slowed to turn left but failed to merge into the left-turn lane.

A woman driving a white Ford Mustang southbound behind the Altima, was unable to brake in time before slamming into the Altima, St. George Police Officer Tyrell Bangerter said.

World War II veteran, Dan Zaragoza, who lives near where this accident occurred, said that he usually parks his car in front of his home but was glad that he had moved it last night.

“I was out here picking peaches on the side of my house and I heard bang,” Zaragosa said. “Then the horn on the Mustang kept blaring. Whenever you see a wreck it just startles you.”

St. George Police blocked both lanes of travel from 500 South to 600 South on Main Street for about one-half hour while St. George Fire Department cleaned up the road debris.

The woman and her child, from the Altima, were transported by Gold Cross Ambulance to Dixie Regional. Their conditions were not reported. The driver of the Mustang was shaken up, but no injuries were reported. Both cars had to be towed.

Both drivers were issued citations, Bangerter said. The driver of the Altima was cited for never having obtained a license and improper turn. The driver of the Mustang was cited for following too close.

This report is based on preliminary information provided by responders on scene and may not contain the full scope of findings.

    Hers what happened:

Bishops wife #1 said to herself “I know I’ve never had a drivers license but I’m a Bishop’s wife and my little child is Gods chosen child so I can make a left turn from the travel lane, nothing will happen,”

Bishops wife #2 said to herself ” I know I’m following a little to close to this other driver right now but I’m a Bishops wife who drives a mustang so nothing will happen to me”.

Firtunately no one was seriously injured when something did, in fact, horn to them.

You do realize that when you talk this way, you sound just like all the racist bigots out there, right? You aren’t helping any causes whatsoever in your rant. And, while I will admit that there are people who think that way here, the majority of LDS people do not, nor do they act that way and it is unfair and rude to lump us all together like that. We are imperfect people just striving to do our best and be better people. I would extend the invitation to take an opportunity to get to know a bit more about the religion from a member that you respect so that you can gauge a more accurate view. There are also quite a few missionaries at the temple visitors’ center that would love to talk. 🙂
