WASHINGTON CITY – A woman was transported to the hospital Sunday afternoon after experiencing a medical episode and crashing her car through a Washington City home.
At approximately 2:23 p.m., the woman, who appeared to have been driving eastbound on Bulloch Drive in Washington, left the roadway, went up over a curb and over the slope of an empty lot, before crashing her car into a house sitting on the corner of Bulloch Drive and North Scenic Drive West.
“She may have had a heart attack – we don’t know for sure – she had some kind of medical (issue) and ran off the road, went through the post on this back patio and into the house,” Washington City Fire Captain Jerry Allred said.
Washington City Police, Washington City Fire Department and Gold Cross Ambulance responded to the collision.
Although the vehicle briefly caught on fire, Allred said, there was mostly a lot of smoke, likely from the vehicle’s radiator, and dust from hitting into the house.
The woman was transported to Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George, Allred said. Her condition at the time this report is published is unknown, he said.
While no other injuries were reported, Allred said, there is significant damage to the home.

I’m just glad nobody was hurt. This could of gone real bad in a hurry but it is obvious this woman should never get driver’s license back
I probably would have a heart attack if I realized I was about to crash into someone’s house
There was a 7 yo kid in the car, the 70 yo owner of the house helped get him be for the car was completely filled from smoke coming from the tires that were still spinning 60 miles per hour.
Hope everyone has their insurance policies (home and auto) up to date. Hope the driver is okay.
