Jones, Scott obit(March 23, 1996 – January 27, 2015)

Scott Wesley Jones, 18, passed away January 27, 2015. He was born March 23, 1996, to Walter Paul and Sara Lu Fawson Jones. He was born and raised in St. George, Utah.

He graduated with his Associate Degree at Dixie State University and was working towards his Bachelors of Computer Science. Scott attended Desert Hills High School and Success Academy.

Scott received the rank of Eagle Scout. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, fly tying, photography, tennis and was an avid reader. He had a natural talent with computers and technology. Scott loved being with friends and going hunting with his dog, Buck. He loved being of service to others and enjoyed serving as an active priesthood holder.

Scott was preparing and now is serving a full time mission for the Lord. What an amazing and kind hearted person he is. We love him, will miss him dearly and are blessed to have had him in our lives.

We would like to thank St. George Emergency Response Teams and Dixie Regional Medical Center for their special care of our loved one.

Funeral Services

  • Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 31, at 11 a.m. at the Bloomington Hills 3rd Ward Chapel, 1222 East Brigham Road, St. George, Utah.
  • A viewing will be held Friday, Jan. 30 from 6-8 p.m. at the Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 South Bluff, St. George and Saturday at 9:30 a.m. prior to services at the chapel.
  • Interment will take place in the Veyo Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers and gifts an account has been set up at Zions Bank in Scott’s name.  These contributions will be donated to the LDS mission fund in Scott’s name.

Arrangements have been made under the direction of Spilsbury Mortuary, 435-673-2454. Friends and family are invited to sign Scott’s online guestbook at the Spilsbury Mortuary website.
