Eldon Kenneth Purdie, 72, of Hurricane, Utah, returned to his Heavenly home Monday morning January 26, 2015, after an extended illness. Eldon was born July 27, 1942, in Winnebago, Minnesota, to Kenneth and Melva Purdie.
Eldon enjoyed playing sports in his younger years, as he got older he enjoyed watching them. After graduating, Eldon joined the Army and was later honorably discharged. He then went on helping to build the schools in Washington County, all over Utah and Nevada. He enjoyed his coffee and breakfast at Bishop’s Café.
Eldon is survived by two grandsons, Michael and Lee and two great-grandsons; three brothers, Charles “Chuck” Purdie of Minnesota, Don Purdie of Minnesota, John Purdie of the Philippine Islands; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his second wife, Joanne Purdie; stepson, Thomas Fjermestad; son, Jim Purdie and daughter, Lori Purdie (from a previous marriage).
Funeral Services
- Graveside services with military honors will be held Saturday, Feb. 7, at 11 a.m. in the Hurricane City Cemetery.
