‘Dancing with Your Community Stars’ benefits justice center

ST. GEORGE — The friends of the Washington County Children’s Justice Center are pleased to present “Dancing with Your Community Stars” with a local celebrity cast who will brave the dance floor for the first time on March 21.

This one night event will feature local celebrities who will leave their comfort zones and endure hours of challenging rehearsals to master technical choreography and entertaining performances.

Proceeds from this fundraiser will directly benefit the Washington County Children’s Justice Center. The justice center is a safe home-like setting where victims of child abuse can receive coordinated services, such as a forensic interview, connection to victim services, referrals for a medical exam, mental health counseling, and other needed support services.

The 2015 local stars are:

  • Linda Baker | Workers Compensation Fund
  • Carl Lamar | 99.9 KONY Country
  • Brian Passey | The Spectrum
  • Cory Pulsipher | Sheriff of Washington County
  • Donna Smith | Washington County Board of Realtors
  • Carmen Snow | Washington City Youth Council
  • Kathy Tolleson | Southern Utah Home Builders Association
  • Shane Wood | A to Zion Realty

Our talented dance professionals are Giacomo and Debra Agrello and their students from Agrello Dance & Fitness, Dixie State University ballroom performance students, and Tiffany Barnes with Red Rock Swing Club.

Tickets will be on sale for $15 per person. Each ticket purchased will be entered into a drawing held at the event for a Dancing with the Stars 7-night Eastern Caribbean Cruise, donated by The Travel Connection on Holland America’s ms Nieuw Amsterdam, Jan. 3-10, 2016.

If that dance floor isn’t a concrete slab, they’d better go in and put reinforcements under it! 😀

Dancing? Are you joking? Articles like this make me miss koolaid, ladybug, and others. This whole site has gotten a little lame. Fitting though, considering where we live. Dancing in St George. LOL!

I hope the CJC got a dancing permit. Aw, I miss koolaid and ladybug, too. Where did they go?

If I am in town that weekend, I am totally getting tickets. This sounds like so much fun!!

Seriously, I like to see the dance permit. If no permit, then why didn’t the cops bust this up. Oh, because the cops were there dancing. Maybe Fiesta Fun should have busted up this event.

Maybe the St. George City council will sick the SGPD on this event. Can you imagine the controversy when Sheriff Pulsipher gets arrested for dancing? Ha, ha, ha!

Billy Madison, maybe if you had read the article you would see that this is scheduled to happen on March 21. Maybe that’s “why the cops didn’t bust it up”. You and your little groupies are so anxious to be the first ones to attack and post anything negative that you don’t even read the article first.
