OPINION — Have you ever slept under the stars in a hammock tent that hangs over the water that is only accessible by stand-up paddleboards that have LED lighting on them?
No? Well you should. Like, now.
And luckily, there’s a way you can experience it right here in Southern Utah.

Recently I discovered an online company called Outdoor Rush. Their main goal is to make Southern Utah even more fun for locals and tourists by providing epic adventure equipment for rent.
I was initially drawn to the company because of their out-of-the-box way of doing business, but the more I learned about them, the more I loved what they have to offer. (Keep reading for a special offer AND giveaway!)
Their stand-up paddleboards, or SUPs, are rad because you can use them day and night. The boards have underwater light-emitting diodes (lights that, by the way, change colors) and each paddle has LED lighting as well. They are inflatable, so you can easily fit them in the trunk of a car. (They’ve seriously thought of everything.)
I was worried they wouldn’t be sturdy when I heard they were inflatable, but once I was on the board I would have never even known. SUPs are also surprisingly easy to navigate – and you can make the experience as relaxing or adventurous as you would like. I recommend attempting to try a few yoga poses on the water.
SUP rentals start at $45, but they offer multiday discounts if you want to take them on your next vacation. (Lake Powell, anyone?)
Even if you hate camping, you have to add the Tentsile hammock tent to your bucket list. It’s probably the greatest invention in the history of ever. The only thing I don’t like about it is the fact that I didn’t think of it first.
The tent zips through the bottom and has an enter/exit ladder that hangs down below the tent. To find a camp site, all you need is a spot with three trees (and a good view of the stars)! You don’t have to hang the hammock tent over water, but I highly recommend it!
Hammock tent rental starts at $50 per day, but a multiday discount is available if you want to be an even happier camper.

Canyoneering! This area has so many amazing unique and beautiful canyons. Besides that you really can’t go wrong with what you do in Southern Utah. Any outdoor adventure is bound to be a good time.
