ADVERTORIAL / ST. GEORGE — Grade school is arguably the most impressionable time in a child’s life. While education obtained in public school may work for some, other children blossom under a more personalized curriculum.

Liberty Youth Academy is an LDS faith-based leadership academy aimed at helping each child realize their potential.
“We really try to individualize and tailor the curriculum to the children,” Stephanie Dale, administrator and teacher at Liberty Youth Academy, said. “We celebrate their strengths, give them tools for their weaknesses, and because the pressure to perform is off, they rise quickly.”
Student classes are composed of preschool, kindergarten through third grade, and fourth grade through eighth grade.
Liberty is partnering with Gathering Families to add history, literature, music appreciation, science and art classes for high school aged students in the fall. Classes are open to homeschooled children and homeschool support co-op is available.
“I think that it’s important for the kids to interact with each other at the different ages,” Littia Sellers, a K-third grade teacher at Liberty, said. “There isn’t any bullying, they support each other.”
Holly Baker, one of many students at Liberty who transitioned there from public school, said it made a world of difference for her personal growth and acceptance.
“The biggest difference between Liberty and public school is that (at) public school … I did not feel loved, and I didn’t feel like anyone wanted me to be there, I was bullied,” Baker said. “But here, I feel like they want me to be here, and I do feel loved.”

So what are all the other private schools ran by Christian, Jewish, and Muslim groups doing? Teaching the kids to be atheists? Mormons aren’t the first to have “faith-based” schools. Your comment is irrelevant to the deeper issues of modern America. Get a bigger view of the social problems that need to be fixed here locally and in the U.S. — are you able to do that? Just asking.

On a brighter note, U.S. New and World Report just ranked Dixie and Snow Canyon HS 11th and 12th academically in Utah.
Have to start the mormon-based conditioning (brain washing) at a young age. That way they’ll be more likely to pay the LDS corporation for their entire lives, because we’ll all know “the Lard” loves that money.

With tuition around $300 to $400 + dollars per month, most families in the area will never be able to even consider it. I’m all for competition in education, but the sad reality is that the children who are disabled or in lower income homes get excluded. Without a voucher program or other means, the privileged children have it good anyway.

Izzy, here’s more on your interpretation of “asking”. “It shall come to pass that all..shall observe this law, or thay shall not be found worthy to abide among you.” (D&C 119:5). mormonism is unique because there’s still enough evidence left around from the early 19th century to positively prove the whole thing a fraud and lie. All the others are more difficult just bc of how old they are, and we have to live around and tolerate mormon BS, scams, and hypocrisy everyday, so it just begs to be discussed…
So you believe Moses parted the Red Sea, Jesus walked on water and was resurrected, Muhammad rode on the back of a Pegasus etc. etc. (other religions are ok) simply because they’re too old to prove false? The Catholics teach that all “non-Catholics” are going to purgatory or hell if no one “bails” them out, All the evangelical Christians believe that they’re the only ones “saved”, all the devout Muslims teach that all the “infidels” are going to hell, the Jews believe that all the Christians are deceived by a man (Jesus) who was possessed by the devil (see Jewish site for other reasons Jews do not like Christ: http://www.aish.com/jw/s/48892792.html?tab=y)…etc. etc. How do you prove any religion true or untrue? But, of course you probably won’t answer that question either.

So glad to see that this is a advertorial and not written by one of the staff writers. I especially loved last weeks Mother’s Day article in which the Mormon writer spent the majority of the article telling everyone how good other members of her “church” were and how the two mothers couldn’t relate to their kids instead of focusing on what they’ve accomplished in their own lives . As far as this advertorial goes, the fact that they charge a large amount of money to provide children with an education sickens me. If we want to make this country great again then focusing more on education (which creates opportunities, fosters creativity, and encourages people to become informed about the decisions they have to make among a whole list of other things) and less on money would be a good start.
