ST. GEORGE — The Dixie Regional Medical Center Foundation has funding available for mammograms to be given at no charge to women who are age 40 or older, uninsured or unable to bear the cost of a mammogram, not currently enrolled in Medicaid or Medicare and legal residents of Washington or Iron counties.
Women aged 40 or older are urged to have a mammogram on an annual basis. Early detection of breast cancer with screening mammography means that treatment can be started earlier in the course of the disease, possibly before it has spread.
Women who meet this criteria should call Dixie Regional Medical Center at 435-688-6499, or Valley View Medical Center at 435-868-5300 to schedule an appointment.
Funding for these mammograms was provided by Susan G. Komen, with matching funds to cover the cost for radiologist readings by the foundations for Dixie Regional and Valley View medical centers.
Ed. note: Intermountain Healthcare issued a change in contact phone number; phone number updated 7/9/2015.
