WASHINGTON CITY — A distracted driver received a citation after running her car into the back of a compact camp trailer Wednesday afternoon in Washington City.
At about 1:30 p.m., the driver of a Mazda passenger car traveling northeast on Buena Vista Boulevard at Playa Della Rosita was distracted for a moment and ran her car into the back of a small camp trailer being towed by a Mazda SUV, Washington City Police Department Public Information Officer Ed Kantor said.
“It was just a momentary distraction,” Kantor said. “The vehicle in front of her slowed, and she ran into it.”
Kantor said Washington City Police, Washington City Fire and Gold Cross Ambulance were called to the scene, but no one involved in the accident was transported to the hospital. The airbags had deployed on the passenger car, and both drivers were wearing their seat belts.
The passenger car was towed from the scene.
The driver of the passenger car received a ticket for following too closely, Kantor said.
This report is based on preliminary information provided by law enforcement or other emergency responders and may not contain the full scope of findings.
