ST. GEORGE — A North Carolina man has been arrested on assault charges following a stabbing incident in the Dixie Downs area of St. George Tuesday night.
A call was received at the St. George Communications Center at 9:45 p.m. Tuesday night reporting the assault, St. George Police Lt. Joseph Hartman said. It was initially reported that the victim had sustained two stab wounds; however, emergency responders were only able to locate one wound.
The victim underwent emergency surgery and is currently listed in stable condition at Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George. His identity has not yet been released.
Officers arrested 45-year-old Christopher Boulware, of Mount Holly, North Carolina, on charges of aggravated assault in connection with the stabbing, St. George Police officer Lona Trombley said, adding, “We’re still interviewing and seeing if there was more to the story than we initially got.”
Boulware remains in custody as of this publication in lieu of $10,000 bond.
“Members of the St. George Police Department Investigations Division were called out to process the scene and investigate the incident,” a press release from the St. George Police Department said. “Follow up investigation is taking place. This is an isolated incident and there is no danger to the public.”
The police are asking that witnesses to the incident contact the Police Department at 435-627-4300.

What’s the problem? I thought this area was craving ‘Diversity’ and all of the culture that came with it…
Racist comments like this have no place in civil discourse. I object to diversity for diversity’s sake as you apparently do; I prefer competence and other objective criteria for selecting folks. But comments like this one perpetuate stereotypes and are not welcome by most of us.
Is it racist to point out that last weeks front page news was white people shoplifting and car accidents, and today’s front page news is a stabbing and a murder- both from a very, very, very small demographic of our new diversity?
