“We have a 21-year-old male,” Washington City Fire Chief Brent Hafen said. The man, his brother, and a friend took a children’s tricycle and made alterations to it by putting larger tires on it among other things.

Around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, the three took the tricycle down the Cottonwood Wash Trail in Washington, with the 21-year-old riding it. The trail became a long downhill, Hafen said. When the tricycle got going too fast it crashed and the rider went head-first into the rocks.

Responders were able to take the rider by ambulance to a location Life Flight could land and was then transported by the helicopter to Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George.

He had head injuries, Hafen said, and tests were expected to determine if he should be taken to Las Vegas for further treatment. Hafen added that the man’s vitals were good, but the head trauma was severe.

Ouch! Are you sure the head injuries weren’t there BEFORE the tricycle crashed?

That is very unkind. This man was one of the most loving & accepting people I’ve ever known. Please consider the family & friends of the victim before posting unkind words such as these. Merry Christmas.

Sagemoon is one of the kindest commenter I know. She has a big heart and great discernment. The question needed to be asked because who would think this is a good idea?? Obviously creative but not well thought out. It’s sad he lost his life so young, my heart goes out to his family. It’s not sage-moon’s fault so please be kind to others.

I tried to make a joke not knowing how serious his injury was. I am so sorry for your loss. The latest article said he had a lot going for him. How is it that one person survives an accident like this and another dies? RIP, young man. Blessings to your family and friends.
