Rugby clubbing: BYU clobbers Dixie State in Saturday match

ST. GEORGE — Although rugby is not an officially sanctioned NCAA sport at BYU or Dixie State, no one would dare tell that to the hard-working ruggers who squared off at Snow Canyon High School’s rugby pitch Saturday afternoon.

With perfect weather and a good field, the two teams hammered away at each other for a couple of hours, with the defending National Champion BYU club team defeating Dixie State’s club team 53-12.
