ST. GEORGE — The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City has issued a hazardous weather outlook for portions of central Utah, northern Utah, Southern Utah and southwest Wyoming. The forecast is for a series of spring storms bringing scattered showers and possible thunderstorms.

Cache Valley, northern Wasatch Front, Salt Lake and Tooele valleys, southern Wasatch Front, Great Salt Lake Desert and mountains, Wasatch Mountain valleys, Wasatch Mountains near Interstate-80 North, Wasatch Mountains south of I-80, western Uinta Mountains, Wasatch Plateau-Book Cliffs, Western Uinta Basin-Castle Country, San Rafael Swell, Sanpete-Sevier valleys, west-central Utah, southwest Utah, Utah’s Dixie and Zion National Park, south-central Utah, Glen Canyon Recreation Area-Lake Powell, central mountains, southern mountains and southwest Wyoming.
Timing
A spring storm system will arrive Friday with cooler temperatures, scattered showers and thunderstorms. Winds accompanying some thunderstorms will be quite gusty. There is enhanced potential for locally strong winds, especially this afternoon and evening. Snow levels will vary between 8,000 feet and 10,000 feet.
The storm system will trend wetter this weekend, with even cooler temperatures. Snow levels will vary between 7,000 and 9,000 feet during the weekend.
