ST. GEORGE — An unknown number of Facebook users found themselves without access to parts of the popular social network Tuesday, prompting howls of displeasure from some and hoots of derision from others.
While some took to Twitter to crack jokes about the service, others were a little more serious in voicing their concerns.
Twitter user BenHarrison1999 tweeted to Facebook about 12 noon MDT, “@facebook my messages are not loading and I cannot send or receive, anyway to stop this?”
Another user, @EmanueleJar, took a more philosophical approach, offering a wry observation familiar to many who find themselves suddenly without the ability to share important life events on Facebook.
The outage means that St. George News and Cedar City News are both unable to update their respective Facebook pages and have been since about 4 p.m. Tuesday.
The stories we have published will be posted on our Facebook page as soon as this outage ends. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you, our loyal readers, in advance for your patience.
You can also follow us on Twitter at @STGnews and Google+ at STGnews. We hope, as well as you, that Facebook functionality returns as soon as possible so we can all get back to what is truly important. And remember, a good sense of humor is always appropriate.
