Koby Frei pitched a solid game, striking out 10 before tiring in the late innings. Toby Swenson drove in four runs with a three-run homer and a triple.

”Koby pitched an amazing game,” Swenson said, “and we played good defense overall.

“We swung the bats well.”

The Sentinels finished with 16 hits as Michael Lacey, Ryke Erickson, Kashdien Walker, Swenson and Kory Kaigen each had two.

The Sentinels took a 1-0 lead on singles from Kaigen and Noah Humphrey and a fielder’s choice from Jared Shirley in the second inning. Swenson homered in the third and the Sentinels had another big inning in the seventh.

“It was a good game from us,” Sentinels coach Shane Johansen said. “We came out and hit the ball really well and Koby competed well, making the third pitcher in a row that did that for us.”

The four teams competing in the semifinals at Dixie State Saturday evening include Cache Valley, South Cache, Riverton and the Utah Prospects. The other teams played around the city throughout the day.
