ST. GEORGE — A Nissan Altima and a U-Haul moving truck collided on 700 West State St. in Hurricane shortly before noon Friday.
The accident occurred at approximately 11:15 a.m., Hurricane City Police Sgt. Brandon Buell said. A 2008 GMC U-Haul driven by an adult male and carrying three juveniles was driving east on State Street.
The 2015 Nissan was driven by a juvenile male with three juvenile passengers, and was headed west on State Street.
The driver of the U-Haul attempted to make a left-hand turn to head north on 700 West.
“The U-Haul pulled out and made its turn and failed to yield to the Nissan Altima that was traveling westbound,” Buell said. “The driver of the U-Haul was cited for failure to yield.”
Everyone involved in the incident was wearing seat belts and no injuries were reported.
Traffic was diverted to one lane in each direction for approximately half an hour.
The Nissan was towed from the scene while the U-Haul was able to continue on its way.
Hurricane City Police and Hurricane Valley Fire Department responded to the incident.
