ST. GEORGE — A police officer was wounded and a man was killed Thursday in an exchange of gunfire in Kingman, Arizona.

At approximately 9:30 a.m. Thursday, the Kingman Police Department attempted to execute a search warrant for stolen property at a residence on the 1700 block of Miami Avenue, according to a statement issued by the Bullhead City Police Department, which was requested to investigate the officer-involved shooting.

Preliminary information indicates 53-year-old Jeffrey Clair Cave, of Kingman, fired a weapon toward officers in the area of the front door of the residence and shot a police officer, Bullhead City Police officials said Thursday night.

When police returned fire, Cave was shot and later pronounced dead at the scene.

The police officer was transported to Kingman Regional Medical Center where he underwent surgery. The officer was listed in “serious, but stable” condition, according to the Police Department.

The investigation is ongoing, and additional information will be provided as it becomes available.

It is protocol to have an outside agency conduct an independent investigation of an officer-involved shooting incident.

This report is based on preliminary information provided by emergency responders and may not contain the full scope of findings.

Sorry to hear about the Officer getting shot. Glad he will recover, thank God. But what do people think will happen when you point/shoot a gun at a police officer???
    He got what he deserved.

Some people think that pointing a gun at a police officer means they still shouldn’t get shot.
Where is the BLM movement on this?
      Where is Jesse Jackson?
      Where is Obama chiming in??

Oh, right….it was a white guy. BLM, Jesse Jackson, and Obama don’t care if a white criminal gets shot; it only matters when a black criminal gets shot.

Well, Kingman had better prepare for the obligatory mass protests, rioting, and looting.
Oh, wait… normal people don’t burn down their own town when a criminal gets shot for doing something like this…

Okay, Kingman had better get ready for a national media frenzy over the shooting.
Oh, wait… the media doesn’t care unless the guy was a black criminal…

Well, I guess this story won’t be news anymore tomorrow then.

      Good job, Officer!
