When officers arrived they discovered one of the pharmacy’s windows had been broken. No suspects were found inside as police searched the building.

Investigators checked the pharmacy’s security camera and observed a man with what appeared to be a black Labrador dog enter the business. The man subsequently took medications from the pharmacy and fled the scene, according to the press release.

In a separate incident Saturday, Washington City Police encountered 24-year-old Caleb Comstock of Hurricane while he was walking with a black dog.

Hurricane City Police became aware of the encounter and sent investigators to the scene where they spoke with Comstock. According to the press release, the suspect gave police consent to search his belongings.

Officers found items confirmed to be from the Hurricane Family Pharmacy, along with suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia, authorities said.

Comstock was arrested and booked in the Washington County Purgatory Correctional Facility on charges related to criminal mischief, drug possession and paraphernalia, burglary, theft and receiving stolen property.

Persons arrested or charged are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law or as otherwise decided by a trier-of-fact.
