Mike Turner is the volunteer chairman and one of the co-founders of the Utah chapter of the National Honor Flight organization. Utah Honor Flight is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that began in 2013 and takes veterans to Washington to see memorials of the wars in which they served.

Utah Honor Flight is run solely by volunteers. The trips include a wreath-laying ceremony at the National World War II Memorial followed by stops at the Korean War Memorial, the Vietnam Memorial and other notable sites in the area. To date, Utah Honor Flight has sent more than 1,450 veterans to Washington D.C., thanks to the support of private citizens and businesses.

Turner has been self-employed since 1990 in Richfield and has spent 25 years in reserve law enforcement with the Richfield City Police Deptartment and Sevier County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue.

Turner was a board member of the Richfield Area Chamber of Commerce from 2009-2013 and chair of the Community Covenants Military Family Support program from 2011-2013. He served a term on the Richfield City Council from 2009-2013 and has been Utah Honor Flight chair since January 2014. He has escorted veterans on Utah Honor Flight trips 27 times and is the son of a Korea and Vietnam war veteran.
