Carolyn Rogers

Carolyn Sue Rogers of Washington, Utah, passed away June 13, 2018. She was born in Ft. Worth, Texas, to Charlie Cecil and Dorothy Stockton. She married Ray C. Rogers on April 7, 1955, at Westworth Church of Christ in Ft. Worth, Texas.

Carolyn graduated from Northside High School in May of 1955.

After her marriage, Roy and she lived in Lometa and Lompasas, Texas. In 1958 they moved to Oklahoma, where Roy was an instructor at the Federal Aviation Academy.

They temporarily moved to Poughkeepsie, New York, for about five months and then returned to Oklahoma to resume work at the academy. They also moved to Jacksonville, Florida, for a short period of time and then again returned to Oklahoma to further train other technicians in Roy’s work.

Carolyn gave birth to Charles Ray Rogers on April 14, 1959, in Ft. Worth, Texas; Billy Carroll Rogers on Oct. 26, 1960, in Ft. Worth, Texas; and Russell Lee Rogers on Dec. 18, 1962.

She is survived by her husband, Roy; sons Charles and Russell; a granddaughter and two great-grandchildren, which she cared for but very seldom saw because of the split between Charles and his first wife. She is also survived by her sister, Jane Whitley of Ft. Worth, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her son, Billy, who passed away during the winter of 2002.

The family wishes to thank Intermountain Hospice, Liberty Dialysis and all the doctors and nurses at Dixie Regional Medical Center for their care. They would also like to thank the neighbors and friends that expressed care.

Funeral services

  • Family and friends will be invited to attend a small service on July 11 at Spilsbury Mortuary in St. George, located at 110 South Bluff St.
  • She will be cremated, and a memorial headstone will be installed in the Washington City Cemetery.

Her ashes will be scattered at one of her favorite places near the Mill Hollow Reservoir.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers to honor her, please donate to the National Kidney Foundation to further the study and help alleviate the adverse amount of kidney failure.
