ST. GEORGE — A driver received minor abrasions and front-end damage to his car Wednesday morning after another driver in a pickup truck said he didn’t see the other vehicle coming.
The driver of the tan pickup truck was heading south on Bluff Street around 9:15 a.m. and making a left turn onto 100 South when he collided with a blue sedan heading north on Bluff Street, St. George Police officer Ken Childs said.
Since construction on the east side of Bluff Street began this month, Childs said there have been numerous traffic violations and close calls when it comes to car accidents.

“Be careful on Bluff,” Childs said. “It’s a nightmare.”
The driver of the pickup truck received a citation for failure to yield on a left turn. There were no other injuries reported besides the minor abrasions suffered by the driver of the sedan when the car’s airbag deployed.
St. George Fire Department and Gold Cross Ambulance personnel also responded to the scene.

Uuhuuuh. Not paying attention = 92% chance driving while using hand held cellphone. Once again distracted driving statistics will always be skewed, unless we all get dashcams with wide angle camera lenses. How else does an accident like this occur unless you have bad eyesight or spill your coffee etc. I drive by the exact location once or twice a day. Not buying the whole story. I think a piece is missing. But hey, minor injuries. Lucky for the victim. I have no sympathy for the driver of the truck. Note I am biased since I was hit & run on Bluff 2 months ago.

Oh my goodness, Dump! You were right! HE WAS THERE this whole time! How did you know?!
I could make it from 57th on 3rd Avenue (during rush hour in my little old VW Beetle with 4 lanes of all those yellow cabs) all the way to 127th Street on 3rd Avenue and get on the FDR Drive without hitting a traffic light! St. George drivers make me nervous. Those highway funds should be used to install RED and GREEN arrows are all major intersections in Washington County.
And can we do something about all the garbage collecting along Interstate 15 going through Washington County?
Imagine this, Travis, that like you, many errr MOST of those drivers just AREN’T from St. George. I know someone who has been here a year and relies on a GPS to go EVERYWHERE in town and wont take the freeway.
