ST. GEORGE — After a naked man allegedly kicked down the front door of a home in a rural part of Iron County Tuesday, the homeowners shot him multiple times before he left and was arrested.
Christian Holbert, 24, from Washington County, is accused of breaking into the home on 17800 W in what is known as Old Irontown in southern Iron County at about 12:40 p.m. Two elderly residents were in the house when Holbert broke in, according to a press release from the Iron County Sheriff’s Office.
“The homeowners felt threatened by the male and his demeanor and as a result, the suspect was shot multiple times with a handgun,” according to the press release.
After being shot, Holbert was still trying to get up, was not listening to the homeowners and was being “irrational.” He then left the house and was found by officers about 20 minutes later. He was still naked and being noncompliant when police arrived, so they used a stun gun on him multiple times, which “had little to no impact on Holbert.”
Deputies were eventually able to subdue the man and arrest him. Emergency responders treated Holbert’s gunshot wounds at the scene and transported him to Dixie Regional Medical Center via Intermountain Life Flight helicopter. His injuries are serious, but probably not life-threatening, said Lt. Del Schlosser, of the Iron County Sheriff’s Office.
Drugs are believed to have caused Holbert to be acting the way that he did, Schlosser said. Charges are pending and will be filed after the investigation is completed.
There are no charges being filed against the homeowners at this time. They were uninjured but distressed from having to shoot a man in their home, Schlosser said.
“Obviously, they’re pretty shaken up after being involved in such a dramatic event.”
This report is based on statements from police and may not contain the full scope of findings. Persons arrested or charged are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law or as otherwise decided by a trier-of-fact.

2 to the chest, 1 to the head. Classic combat 3 tap. Too bad this technique wasn’t employed.

Yeah, just kill ’em !. That’s how we deal with them there banditos down here in the wild west of southern Utah ! Seriously?
Seriously.
This guy had it coming. Should have been shot by even more bullets.
Still chewing on them Tide pods eh ?
Still in mommy’s basement and jobless eh?
I think the elderly folks should have invited him in for cookies and milk instead of shooting him….
Only the liberals would attempt to invite him in for milk and cookies. They’re the only ones who actually believe it’s a good answer to a dangerous situation like this.
Muh Weed!

Practice, practice, practice.
Did he shoot him with a Nerf blaster?
Guessing not a .45 acp or a shotgun. But any gun is better than no gun when seconds count and the police are…, well with the case here, looks like about 20 minutes away.
The new synthetic drugs like flaka and the one causing havoc in England lately are bad news. This is just a guess, but it is not uncommon for PCP users to strip off clothes due to body heat. PCP is back in vogue in the eastcoast ghettos these days as it is cheap, powerful, and lasts a long time. Not sure if it has made a return to Utah. The other guess would be one of the mail order Chinese manufactured synthetic drugs. Either way the man is lucky to be alive, and unlike some posters above who joke and turn him into a cardboard target, although aimed at humor perhaps, my guess the person doing the actual shooting in this case is happy he is still alive. There is no glory in killing another human being, but not judging, as I realize the comments are not that serious, and reflect a survival mentality. Moral of the entire story, stick to organics if you decide to use illegal drugs for kicks.
Kilroy, really? is PCP making a comeback? That’s NOT GOOD .That stuff is terrible. Major issues with that crap back in the day, especially in Calif. Hope it doesn’t make the trek out this way again.
