Southern Utah weekend weather forecast: Sunny skies with no break from the heat; fire weather imminent

ST. GEORGE — According to the National Weather Service, this weekend’s weather for the majority of southwestern Utah will include warmer temperatures and sunny skies. There is a hazardous weather warning for the western two thirds of Utah, with some scattered thunderstorms predicted more in the northern part of the state Friday but fire weather conditions predicted in Southern Utah.

Below are your St. George, Cedar City, Zion National Park and Lake Powell area weekend weather forecasts, including current warnings and advisories.

St. George

Saturday

Sunny with a high of 100 and low of 70, with winds of 5-7 mph in the afternoon, picking up a little after midnight.

Sunday

Sunny with a high of 99 and low in the upper 60s, with winds of 5-8 mph in the afternoon.

Cedar City

Saturday

Sunny with a high of 87 and lows in the upper 50s, with winds of 5-13 mph.

Sunday

Sunny with a high of 86 and low of 62, with winds of 8-11 mph.

Zion National Park

Saturday

Sunny with a high of 88 and low of 57, with winds of 8-13 mph.

Sunny with a high of 98 and low of 63, with winds of 5-9 mph.

Weather warnings and advisories

A hazardous weather outlook has been issues for the western two thirds of Utah that includes isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms. A gusty dry southwest flow is expected to develop moving into next week. Critical fire weather conditions are possible Tuesday through Thursday due to low humidity and strong winds.
